Asset Tracking System

Before the development of the technology of the Global Positioning System (GPS), it was practically impossible to monitor mobile assets such as trucks, cars, vans, containers, heavy equipment, and trailers once they leave the garage. Fleet managers had to rely solely on the reports of their drivers and other employees about their travel. They could never really know if the vehicles had been idle and if so, for how long, or if the prescribed route was followed. Perhaps the only measurable data they had was what came from the vehicles’ odometers.

Today, virtually all large fleets are equipped with an asset tracking system that continually feeds data to the managers. This normally consists of a vehicle-mounted electronic device that utilizes GPS signals to transmit data to the main office where these are assembled and analyzed by a computer application. Such information affords a hands-on monitoring of the vehicles in the field. These are often posted on the web so that even if a manager is himself or herself mobile, data can be accessed with a laptop. Some applications can even be programmed to forward data to the manager’s cellular phone.

With a system such as this, it is almost impossible for drivers not to follow the instructions of their managers when taking any vehicle out of the garage.

Party Time

What should I wear tonight? I am attending a soiree with my friends and I need to look absolutely smashing.

I ransacked my closet to find the most suitable dress I have. I selected my top three dresses and laid them in the bed. The first one was a simple red knee length dress. It has lace borders on the top part and bottom of the dress. It looks really seductive. The second dress I picked out is a blue silk tube dress. It has boning on the waist part and it is absolutely divine. The third and last dress I am considering is a pink bubble dress. It is low cut both in front and the back. It is daring but not in an outrageous way.

After trying on all three dresses, I have decided to go with the red dress. I feel that it is an appropriate to wear in tonight’s soiree. Since my dress dilemma is settled, I got to work on my hair. I sort of wanted a simple hairstyle, laid back even. I decided to do my hair in a half updo. I ran my hair through a hot ceramic flat iron until it was stick straight. I can’t wait to go out.

Uncle Ted’s

We went to Uncle Ted’s for lunch. It has been a long time since we saw Uncle Ted. He has been in Asia for almost two years and just recently came back. He has invited all of his family and relatives in the area.

Uncle Ted’s house is a kind of large even though he lives alone. He has a hired someone to clean his house for him when he is not around as well as a gardener to tend to his small vegetable garden. Uncle Ted is not that wealthy. But since he has no one to spend to but himself, he would be constantly sending packages to his various nieces and nephew including me and my sister.

Uncle Ted is a robust man who is 65 years old. He is as healthy as a horse with a great appetite for adventure and fun. Uncle Ted has never been married. He has had series of girlfriends but he never married anyone of them. It seems that he does not want to be tied down.

When we arrived at his house, Uncle Ted was wiping dust of his portable generators. He immediately stood up and welcomed all of us to his house.

Project Day

Today is project day. I will be heading to the hardware store and the mall later today to buy everything I would need for my numerous projects. I will be doing several improvements for my room today and I have all weekend to complete them.

I plan to put up a couple of shoe storage for my shoes. They have been pretty untidy lately due to lack of space and some of them are even scuffed and wrinkled. A cubby hole shoe shelf would be nice. Though, it needs to be stackable and slim enough to fit inside my closet.

Also, I would be replacing my old wall paper. They are a bit too girlish for me now. Some parts are even peeling. I would not be putting up new wall paper but I would be painting my room instead. A nice warm yellow tone with a bit of green hues would be perfect for my room. I think new bed sheets, skirts, and pillowcases are in order too. I want them to match the new look of my room.

I can’t wait to finish all my projects for my room. By then, my bedroom would look really great. No more girly stuff for me.

I Am Hungry

I am hungry and I don’t know what do it. There are just so many things I would love to taste.

Wouldn’t it be nice to eat a really juicy cheese burger? The Wendy’s Baconator would be simply delicious but I think a Big Mac would do the trick, although Burger King’s Whopper would taste even better. Wait a minute. I have a few turkey burger patties in the fridge. Maybe I would just make it myself. I would need a few leaves of lettuce, a large tomato, white onion, mustard and ketchup. Oh! I don’t have any bread. Oh well.

How about ice cream then? Ice cream sounds great, doesn’t it? Hmm. I wonder… Vanilla or Chocolate? Maybe even rocky road or mocha? Now that I’ve thought about it, I should probably learn how to make ice cream since I am particularly fond of it.

I think I would love to eat crepes right now. It would really be perfect with slices of mango and kiwi too. It is quite sad though. The crepe shop that I frequent would not open until a few hours and I am hungry now.

I wonder what tastes good enough to eat? If only I could eat them all.
