Do you have a collection? It can either be stamps, shells, keychains, coins, compact discs, vases, paintings, watches or something else.
Ever since I was a kid, I have been fond of stickers. I love sticking them anywhere—my school bags, notebooks, walls and headboard. I was especially fond of large stickers of cartoon characters, stars, flowers and frogs. The glow-in-the-dark stars were unbelievable. I would ask my Dad to put them in the ceiling so I can watch them at night while I get ready to sleep.
As I grew older, I stopped sticking them and just placed them in a clear book to be appreciated. Some friends would even offer their stickers to trade with mine. Through constant trading, I got special glittery stickers that were worth more than my monthly allowance back then. How I loved it! I would often request to my parents to buy me a sheets of different stickers. Some relative who knew of my collection never failed to give me some during my birthdays or Christmases.
Looking at my sticker collection now, I remembered my wonderful childhood. The Rainbow Brite and Care Bears stickers had been my favourite ever since. I will keep this collection and treasure it my whole life. I would pass it on to my daughters or grandchildren if they, too, are fond of stickers.
There a million places on earth that I would love to go to. Visiting exotic, mysterious and famous places are always on top of my to-do wish list.
I have been travelling ever since I could afford to buy my own bus ticket. I just packed a few clothes and some food in my backpack and hopped on the bus to somewhere. It was a lot of a bit tiring. The effort it took not to get lost in a new city was kinda huge. But it was definitely worth it.
If I had the money, I would definitely go on a world tour. I would want to see all the different famous wonders of the world and the best kept secrets too. For starters, I think I would want to go to the cool places. Antartica and Alaska would be nice. I would want to stay inside an igloo and see penguins and walruses and polar bears. There are a lot of other places that I would want to visit and India is one of them. The spices, culture and the Bollywood movies have always interested me.
After I have saved some money, I would definitely go on a trip to one of these beautiful places. Don’t worry, I’ll send you a postcard!
“Star light, star bright. First star I see tonight. I wish I may, I wish I might… have the wish I wish tonight.”
We often utter this age old rhyme before we make a wish while looking at the first star. Though there are no proof that you’re wish may come true, it is perfectly harmless to try. Some people wish to become richer, to be more beautiful, or maybe more powerful. Others wish to have a better life, to be cured of a certain disease or perhaps find a long lost friend or family member.
I, myself, have numerous wishes. Some are more superficial than others though. Some of my wishes change daily while others have been an obsession for quite some time. Whatever your wishes are, it is never healthy to dwell on them and doing nothing. If you want your wishes to some true, you have to work for it and do your best. Making your wishes a reality requires determination and hard work. One can’t always stare at the night sky.
Sometimes wishes stay as they are if they are truly not meant for you. But don’t give up hope and don’t give up wishing. All your dreams will come true in due time.
All year round, our homes are vulnerable to different kinds of pests. They can be in the form of disgusting and filthy creatures such as rodents, cockroaches, mosquitoes, termites and others. These pests are not only a nuisance but they destroy our home and are a carrier of different diseases and germs.
There are numerous ways in preventing pests from invading your home. Here are some of them:
1. Set a monthly pest inspection with a trusted pest control in Dallas, Texas. These are professionals who can help you assess the infestation in your house while making sure that the existing pests are eliminated.
2. Make sure to repair immediate any leaky faucets, roofs and pipes. Cockroaches tend to dwell in damp and dark places like under your sink and cabinets.
3. Dispose of any stagnant water inside and outside your house. Change water in flower vases daily. Also, check for any clogged gutters. Mosquitoes love to breed in stagnant water.
4. If you can avoid using wood mulch, use gravel or sand instead. Wood mulch encourages termite infestation.
5. Make sure to check your home for any holes and seal them right away. You don’t want rodents and other pests coming into your home.
6. Make sure to keep your house clean and tidy. Don’t leave any food and clutter in the open.
I made my own version of tuna spread today and it was delicious! It was tangy, creamy and wonderful. I spread them on crackers and bread. This is so easy to make and you just need a few basic ingredients.
If you want to make your own homemade tuna spread, you will need a can chunky tuna in water, two pieces of hard boiled eggs, mayonnaise, and a medium sized white onion. First, dice the onion finely and place it in a bowl. I love my hard boiled eggs and tuna a bit chunky so I don’t really mash it. Then you mix the diced onions with the tuna, eggs and mayonnaise. Then you mixed them all really well and you’re done! With this homemade tuna spread, you can store it for a week in the refrigerator. Just put it in a jar and seal it tightly.
When making homemade creations, it is recommended that you use ingredients that can be frozen or stored for a long time. This way, you can avoid any spoilage. If you will be eating it alone or with a few groups of people, make sure that you don’t make anything in excess. Also, make sure that you use sterilized jars and containers. This prevents any bacteria from contaminating you’re wonderful homemade creation.
Why do families go on vacations? Isn’t it just a waste of money, effort and time?
Family vacations are meant to encourage bonding, love, and trust. Commonly, parents are working all year round while their kids are busy with school. Family vacations are the only outlet and opportunity for families to actually get together and spend some proper quality time with each other without the disturbances of work pressures, homeworks and others.
Different families have different ways of spending their family vacations. Some families choose to go outdoors and be one with nature. They go hiking on trails and then camp for the night. They can either roast marshmallows while exchanging scary tales or go night swimming in the clear hidden lake. Some families go out of the country and enjoy the different culture, dialects, cuisine. The whole clan could go sightseeing and buy lots of wonderful souvenirs. Other families prefer to stay in their home state and just visit theme parks. They can go on all those wonderful and thrilling rides all day. The kids can have their pictures taken with the different mascots of the park. The adults can go and watch live shows nightly too.
Give family vacations a try. They can restore your energy and let you have fun together with your family.
